Mongolian film to be screened in Melbourne

Mongolian director Sakhya Byamba’s film “REMOTE CONTROL” was officially invited to be screened in the 63rd Melbourne International Film Festival program from 31 July until 17 August, 2014. The Festival is Australia’s largest & longest running film festival, but also one of the most prestigious in the Asia Pacific region. The Festival also maintains strong links with local and international industry. During the 17-day event Festival presents a showcase of the best in contemporary world cinema. In 2013 the Festival screened over 320 feature, documentary and short films from over 63 countries. Remote Control has previously won the New Currents Award, the top prize of the Busan International Film Festival. Byamba’s Remote Control looks at a young man’s obsession with his beautiful neighbor, was noted for depicting “a sharply observed portrait of the tensions between city and country, reality and fiction.”

The movie is set to be screened at 4:00pm on 10/08/14 and at 6:30pm on 12/08/14. These times have not been finalised yet. Please check closer to the date.
